Feb 3, 2022: SALC Online Listening Session: Selection Criteria (Acquisitions)
The Sustainable Agricultural Lands Conservation Program (SALC) Draft Guidelines will be released this Spring for public comment. In advance of the draft being released we are seeking input into how the acquisitions selection criteria are structured. We hosted an online listening session on February 3rd to gather public input.
November 16, 2021: Strategic Growth Council Awards FY 20-21 SALC Grants
At their November 16th meeting, the California Strategic Growth Council (SGC) approved more than $65 million to fund 19 agricultural easements and three planning grants. The land acquisition projects comprise approximately 27,000 acres in 15 counties across the state.
May 26. 2021 - Listening Session #3: Continuing the Conversation
The California Strategic Growth Growth Council and the Department of Conservation (DOC) hosted a series of online listening sessions to gather feedback and ideas from the public regarding the Sustainable Agricultural Lands Conservation Program (SALC). The workshops were conversational by design with breakout groups, and brainstorming sessions.
The first two sessions were focused on equity. This third session was focused on gathering general feedback for improvements to the SALC program. Notes from the events will be posted once finalized.
May 4, 2021 -Pre-proposal Workshop (Round 7 Acquisition Grants)
This online workshop was focused on the pre-proposal and application process. For more information about the program and pre-proposal process, review the guidelines and the pre-proposal & application requirements.
April 20 & 28 2021 - Listening Sessions: Advancing Racial Equity
The California Strategic Growth Council (SGC) and DOC hosted a series of online listening sessions to gather feedback and ideas from the public regarding the equity components of the Sustainable Agricultural Lands Conservation Program. Notes from the events will be posted once finalized.
