Mine Reclamation - Principal Areas of Mine Pollution
The Principal Areas of Mine Pollution (PAMP) data set is a compilation of 2,422 mining operations and their potential water-quality problems. This information was originally compiled in 1972 by the Division of Mines and Geology for the State Water Resources Control Board. It was published in a series of volumes of tabular data. The data set includes operations where production exceeded $100,000 or where other factors indicated a high potential for pollution.
The spatial data are available as a set of ESRI shapefiles compressed in a
ZIP archive file (approx. 2.0 mb). The archive contains a shapefile for point data. The archive also contains this html file and FGDC metadata.
