Wendy Weaver was named Chief Information Officer on May 6, 2019. Weaver began serving the State of California in 2014, bringing with her more than 20 years of combined project management and information technology (IT) experience.
Weaver began her state career with the Department of Health Care Services. She joined DOC in 2017 as a manager and project director for the Well Statewide Tracking and Reporting (WellSTAR) project, a comprehensive electronic database under ongoing development to better handle oil- and gas-related data collection and analysis, streamline operations and processes, and adhere to statutory requirements.
Prior to joining state service, Weaver earned a bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, a certification in Human Resources Management, and a certification in project management. She worked 13 years in the oil and gas industry, specializing in project management, IT operations, and process improvements for global enterprises solutions.
