Dyan Whyte, of Berkeley, was appointed to the State Mining and Geology Board on April 29, 2025. Whyte has been the CFO at Dataway US since 2019. She has held several positions at the California Regional Water Quality Control Board, San Francisco Bay Region, including Assistant Executive Officer from 1999 to 2019 and Senior Engineering Geologist from 1988 to 1999. Whyte earned her Master of Science degree in Environmental Geology from the University of California, Berkeley, and her Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Studies and Geology from the California State University, Sonoma.
