Catherine Kendall brings more than 18 years of experience in multiple information technology capacities to her position as Chief Information Officer for the Department of Conservation (DOC).

After graduating from UC Davis with a bachelor’s degree in agricultural economics, Kendall began her career as a mainframe programmer in telecommunications with Andersen Consulting (now Accenture) in San Francisco followed by a position doing end-to-end system design and business process re-engineering for a healthcare organization while working for Deloitte Consulting in Los Angeles. She left Deloitte to pursue her master’s at UC Davis. She was recruited by the IBM Corporation to be a Project Manager. After a year of supporting internal IBM systems in the Silicon Valley, Kendall transferred to Sacramento, where she began her career in serving public sector clients for the governments of New York and California.

After a decade, Kendall took a brief break from information technology and earned her doctorate in education from Drexel University. Kendall became the Director of Service Delivery at KAI Partners and consulted with State of California clients before joining the DOC.
