1- A geologist studies rocks to find areas with hot water or steam.

2- A well is drilled by a drill rig to find hot water or steam.

3- If the well locates hot water or steam, it is produced through a well head. 

4- The hot water or steam is transported  from the well to the power plant  through a pipeline.

5- The hot water is converted to steam. Steam turns a turbine in a power plant and electricity is produced

6- Electricity travels on wires to our homes where we can use it.
