Organization Title

The California Geological Survey (CGS) is very active in helping prepare the public for the next large earthquake and other potential geologic disasters.  As part of this effort, CGS will be staffing a booth at the San Francisco Community Disaster Preparedness Faire at Marina Greens on Saturday, October 7, and Sunday, October 8, 2006 (10AM to 4PM both days).  The Faire has been organized by the San Francisco Mayor's Office of Emergency Services and is one of many Fleet Week (http://fleetweek.us/fleetweek#disprep) activities going on in the City.  This web page has been created to allow the public access to the many display items, and earthquake hazards, earthquake preparedness, and home retrofit information that CGS is showcasing during the Faire.

CGS produces a variety of maps and information that help local government agencies and the public in general better understand their susceptibility to earthquake and geologic hazards. The following figures are reproductions of the displays used by CGS during the Disaster Preparedness Faire.
