Official California Tsunami Inundation Maps: Important tsunami preparedness information is located at the bottom of the county/regional index pages. To view inundation maps with Google Maps interface use CGS Information Warehouse. Map areas are searchable by county and/or street address.
How to survive a Tsunami - Brochure prepared by CalOES provides information on what you should know about tsunamis and what to do if you feel a strong earthquake along the coast.
Tsunami Preparedness Brochure for Recreational and Commercial Boaters.
The California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services (CalOES) and the California Geological Survey (CGS) have produced a new tsunami preparedness brochure for recreational and commercial boaters. This brochure will help educate individual boaters about how they should prepare BEFORE the next tsunami arrives on our coast.

Guidance for Local Jurisdictions document. CGS and CalOES have created a guidance document for assessing secondary hazards after a large local earthquake that could inhibit safe evacuation from tsunami hazard areas.

Video: Lessons Save Lives: The story of Tilly Smith. Learn about an eleven-year-old schoolgirl that was on vacation in Thailand with her family when the tsunami hit in December 2004. She recognized the signs of the receding sea and warned her parents of the impending tsunami. Her efforts saved the life of dozens of people. This story highlights the critical importance of tsunami education.
